WeedOut ("we", "us") provides AI-powered comment moderation for YouTube creators. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to identify your account and for billing.
- Your YouTube channel ID and OAuth access/refresh tokens, obtained with your consent via Google Sign-In. Tokens are encrypted at rest and used only to fetch comments from your own videos and to take moderation actions (approve, hide, or reject comments) on your behalf.
- The text and author name of comments posted on your YouTube videos, which we process to determine whether each comment follows the rules you've set.
- Billing identifiers from Stripe (customer ID, subscription ID). We never see or store your card details — Stripe collects and processes payment information directly.
How we use it
Solely to operate the moderation service you've signed up for: fetching new comments on your channel, judging them against your custom rules, and taking the action you've configured (auto-approve, auto-delete, or hold for your review).
Who we share data with
- Google / YouTube — to read and moderate comments on your channel, via the YouTube Data API.
- Anthropic — comment text is sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI model) to generate a moderation judgment. Comment text is not stored by us beyond what's needed for your moderation log.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments.
- Railway — our infrastructure host, which stores our application database.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Google API Services User Data Policy
WeedOut's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your controls
- Disconnect your YouTube channel at any time from your dashboard, which stops all further access and deletes your stored tokens.
- Revoke WeedOut's access directly from your Google Account permissions page at any time.
- Request full deletion of your account and data by emailing support@weedout.ai.
Data retention
We retain your account data and moderation log for as long as your account is active, so you can review past moderation decisions. Data is deleted upon account deletion or after an extended period of inactivity.
